In 2023 the Land Trust is once again offering support to the Belmont Woman’s Club for a project to improve the historic Homer House landscape, the setting for painter Winslow Homer’s well known Croquet series. The Woman’s Club has been working with landscape architect Andy Rojas, creating a plan to remove dead trees and to regrade the lawn.
1/10/11 – The annual meeting of the Belmont Land Trust highlights the partnership with the Belmont Woman’s Club to preserve and enhance the landscape at the historic William Flagg Homer House.
The latest conservation restriction held by the Belmont Land Trust protects in perpetuity the land surrounding Belmont’s historic William Flagg Homer House. The BLT Annual Meeting was held on November 30, 2010 and served as the occasion to honor the Belmont Woman’s Club for this contribution which preserves the integrity of this important site in the center of the town of Belmont.
We appreciate the foresight of the club members in giving this restriction.
