Wellington/ Haase CR

Please note: This CR is private property, not open to the public. Read more about Conservation Restrictions.

The Conservation Restriction Area of over three acres consists mostly of uninterrupted and undisturbed forest surrounding an historic Greek Revival house and barn. The portion nearest Concord Avenue contributes to the scenic, natural condition of the general area around the avenue, a major thoroughfare, by providing a vista of undeveloped land that lies close to the center of Belmont as well as an historic landscape of value both to the residents of the town and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  It abuts Wellington Brook and helps protect its habitat and water quality as well as a nearby one acre parcel of privately held wetlands. It is contiguous to several public facilities and open spaces which include a church, the town library, the town outdoor pool and recreation area and as well as a parcel that incorporates a pre-existing conservation restriction. Thus, it is a major contributor to the open space ambiance near the center of Belmont.
